BridgeUSA (J-1) / Trainee/ Hospitality/ Agriculture

A classroom can only teach you so much about the industry. In order for you to understand how each industry holistically works you need to gain on the job work experience. Being in a working environment requires a mix of strong interpersonal skills, relevant experience and practical experience through an internship abroad.  An international internship gives young people the chance to learn ins and out of an industry while gaining a multicultural experience. It offers young people exclusive opportunities to work with some of the field’s best employers, learning about the industry first hand from established professionals.

Internship USA is a cross training program based on J1 visa requirements. This means that participants must rotate at least 3 times into different areas of a department in order to get the most out of the internship experience.

Program Requirements:

Current fulltime student pursuing studies in Hospitality / Professional Cookery / Agriculture

Recent graduate with a minimum qualification of an NQF level 5/Diploma/N6

5 years consecutive practical work experience in Hospitality / Professional Cookery / Agriculture

Minimum 6 months practical work experience in Hospitality / Professional Cookery / Agriculture

Be able to commit for a minimum of 6 months

Fluent in English

Willing to work long hours

Summer Camp

Live and work in this long-held tradition for 10 weeks, sharing your skills and learning from those you get to work with. Not only will you be sharing and experiencing the rich culture around you while working with the American youth but after your contract ends, you have the opportunity to travel in the USA for 30 days before return home.

Program Requirements:

Between the ages of 19 – 27 years

Love and have experience working with children

Can demonstrate leadership

Must be able to commit for a minimum of 9 weeks

Enjoy being in the outdoors

Have no criminal record

Have a special skill that you will be able to teach campers

Good swimming skills are a bonus

Au Pair

Au pairing in the US is an opportunity of a life time. You get to spend a year in the US while learning valuable skills and developing personally.

Program Requirements:

Be between the ages of 18 – 26

Have completed high school (or the equivalent)

Have no criminal record

Be ready to commit to at least 12 months in the USA

Love children and have at least 200 hours caring for them

Be in good health

Be single and speak and understand English well

Have a valid driver’s license or be able to get one before being placed
